SONY

The brief was to write three pieces of music for the annual conference for Sony Broadcast & Professional in Europe. The conference was to be presented in the style of a magazine programme such as "This Morning". The pieces required were: a 20 second "theme", a 5 second "sting" (such as would precede a news bulletin), both of which would recur throughout the presentation; plus a song which would be the finale.

The song was to be of an upbeat, humorous nature, describing how well the division had done plus some mild mickey-taking of the individual team members. Phrases describing each of the team members were given to us along with specific achievements that the production team wished to be mentioned. Once the song was written & recorded the accompanying footage, which consisted of a series of stills, was then cut to fit.

AMAROK

Amarok specialise in CD duplication and replication. The brief in this instance was to provide a short piece that would accompany the opening sequence of a CD presentation.

The client wished to portray the notion of the dawning of a new day along with its Scottish identity. The result was the track Caledonian Daybreak.
